Croeso to the Iowa Welsh Society's website


The purpose of the Society is to foster interest in the culture, history and language of Wales.  We seek to encourage fellowship between people of Welsh descent and those interested in Wales and Welsh life, to preserve the history of the American-Welsh in Iowa and to establish connections with other Welsh-American organizations.

We are sorry to report the passing of long-time member and past President of the Iowa Welsh Society, Pat McCaughey. Pat died in her sleep on Sunday, June 26.

3-4-17: Luncheon to celebrate St. David's Day at the Maytag Center, Central College, Pella IA. James W. Evans, an artist from Mount Vernon, IA, will discuss his Welsh heritage and his passion for drawing, painting and clay sculpting of everything Welsh. He will bring creations to share.
